Life is Happening
Happy Friday the 13th, y’all! I am sitting here in a beautiful coffee shop in downtown Austin (Halcyon, my favorite cafe ever) doing a bit of work and thought that I haven’t posted in a while. Well the problem is, I have been struggling on what to post about. Outside of red carpet posts (and I have more coming up! There are still the Kids Choice Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, MET Gala, and Cannes opening night!) our life has just been trucking along with no real stand-out events so I haven’t blogged in a while.
Instead I have decided to do a bunch of mini updates for you on different happenings that are going on.
Last weekend we were in NYC and I got to cross something off of my NYC to-do list: Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. We walked from Brooklyn to Manhattan and took a few pictures along the way. Other things on my NYC to-do list (yes, I have an actual list) are to go to the MOMA and the Guggenheim, the boat yard in Central Park, visit the Statue of Liberty, go to Coney Island, spend a day in Fire Island, do a weekend in Atlantic City, and eat at about a dozen different restaurants.
The best part about last weekend in NYC is that it was our last weekend traveling for the next THREE WEEKS. We have been traveling twice a week every week for the past 9 weeks and it is nice to be home for a while. We get to do normal things like take the trash to the curb, fix our ceiling in the bathroom which is breaking from an old leak, fully unpack our clothes and have normal wardrobes, water our very dead grass and cook meals at home. It will be nice.
When our 3 glorious weeks at home are done, we will be traveling back to London! The image above is from a store in NYC called MUJI and they have little blocks of city skylines… With Big Ben, the House of Parliament, Millenium Wheel and Gherkin Building, this makes up a London skyline.
We will be in London for about five weeks doing three advanced workshops and a big seminar. Of course I’m excited to be back there for a while and it will be nice to have a change of pace from the normal bootcamp that we have been running for the past year straight.
Another exciting thing going on is that tomorrow morning we are running the Girls on the Run 5K! It is my first race ever and we have convinced our team to run it with us as well. I am hoping to take my camera with so I can take pre-and-post race pictures and do a race recap. And this is bringing us one step closer to training for the Chicago Rock ‘N Roll Half Marathon in August! My goal for the race is to finish and not come in last place.
My OMG-I-Can’t-Believe-I-Did-This Goal is to complete in 35 minutes. Eeek! Wish me luck.
We are now off to Betty Sport for the race packet pick-up and then Bank of America for some international funds transfers. Have a great Friday, lovers!
